Tuxedos and wedding suits in Hong Kong

Since 1987 our family has tailored wedding suits and tuxedos from the same stretch of Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, for about 5,000 grooms so far. Larry measures and fits every groom himself. We cut your own pattern from your measurements, not from a stock block, and keep it on file afterwards. Wedding suits from HKD 3,500 · Tuxedos quoted by cloth · Men's suits ready in 24–48 hours

Tuxedo or suit: which is right for your wedding?

A good starting point is the time of day and the dress code on the invitation.

Choose a tuxedo if…

  • The ceremony or reception is in the evening, or the invitation says black tie.
  • You want the classic details: satin-faced lapels, covered buttons, a stripe down the trouser and a bow tie.
  • Lapels: a shawl collar is soft and rounded. A peak lapel is sharper and more formal. Larry will show you both on cloth before you decide.

Choose a suit if…

  • It is a day wedding, a garden or beach ceremony, or a destination wedding.
  • You want to wear it again. A well-cut navy, grey or mid-blue suit works for weddings, work and dinners for years afterwards.

For the reception

We also make velvet smoking jackets, which are a comfortable change for the evening party.

Not sure yet? Bring a photo of the venue and the invitation to your consultation and we will help you decide. For a fuller checklist, read what to look for in a custom wedding suit.

Cloth for a Hong Kong wedding

Hong Kong is hot and humid for much of the year, and you will be under lights and dancing. Choose from about 2,000 fabrics, including cloth from Ermenegildo Zegna, Loro Piana, Dormeuil, Scabal and Holland & Sherry. Premium fabrics are priced separately.

  • Summer and outdoor weddings: lighter wools, wool-linen and open weaves.
  • Winter, or a wedding back home in the cold: heavier wools, and velvet for an evening jacket.
  • Classic colours: black or midnight navy for a tuxedo. Navy, charcoal or a lighter grey or blue for a day suit.

More detail: suit fabrics for Hong Kong's climate.

Flying in for a wedding: a timeline that works

Men's suits take 24–48 hours, fitting included. Women's suits take at least 3 days. Here is the plan we suggest to grooms visiting Hong Kong:

  1. Before you fly: message us your wedding date, arrival date and departure date on WhatsApp (+852 9745 7058). We will hold an appointment for your first or second day.
  2. Day 1: consultation, cloth and details. Larry takes your measurements and cuts your own pattern.
  3. Fitting: we fit the jacket and trousers on you before they are finished, so the shoulders, chest and waist sit right.
  4. Day 2 or 3: final fitting, any adjustments, and collection.
  5. Leave some slack: please do not book your appointment on the day before the wedding or your last afternoon in Hong Kong.

Getting married somewhere else? We ship to all countries by FedEx, UPS or DHL, with customs cleared. Allow longer around Chinese New Year. Full details: how long a custom suit takes in Hong Kong.

Groomsmen, fathers and the rest of the family

Each person gets their own measurements and pattern, so the suits match in cloth and style but every one of them fits the man wearing it.

  • Book one slot per person, and tell us how many of you are coming so we can plan the fittings.
  • Pick the cloth, lapel and buttons once. We cut every suit from the same cloth.
  • If some of the party live abroad, bring them to Hong Kong together for the measuring and fitting. Every pattern stays on file afterwards.
  • We also tailor women's suits, jackets, trousers and skirts (allow at least 3 days), plus custom shirts from HKD 580.
